Roanoke's Citizens Academy
Go Beyond Your Block: Become a Roanoke Insider
You see the results every day—the clean parks, the safe streets, the vibrant community events. Now, here’s your chance to see how it all happens.
The Roanoke Citizens Academy is your exclusive, 8-week journey into the heart of our city's operations. This isn't a typical class; it's an interactive adventure designed for residents who want to be more informed, involved, and empowered.
What Your Insider's Pass Unlocks:
Hands-On Action: Don't just hear about it—see it! You'll participate in live demonstrations and activities with departments from Public Safety to Public Works.
Candid Conversations: Get direct access to city staff and leaders. This is your forum to ask questions and understand the 'why' behind the decisions that affect you.
A 360° View: From the splash pads to the street signs, you'll connect the dots and see how every city department works together to create the Roanoke you love.
Your Path to Becoming a City Insider:
When: Join us Thursday evenings, 6:00-8:30 PM, for 8 weeks this fall.
Your Mission: To graduate, attend at least seven sessions and experience local democracy in action by attending one City Council meeting during the program.
Are you ready to deepen your connection to your hometown and become a key part of its future?
