Board Overview

The Keep Roanoke Beautiful Board is an advisory board to the City Council. The board makes recommendations to the staff liaison, votes on these recommendations, and then they are presented to the City Council for final approval.

Board Mission

Foster resident awareness of the important role each of us plays in preserving the natural beauty of our city while demonstrating environmental stewardship.

  1. Educate - Provide our community with the knowledge and tools needed to develop and maintain a sustainable natural environment.
  2. Beautify - Promote and oversee community projects that will maintain and enhance the natural beauty of Roanoke.
  3. Volunteer - Increase interest and participation in community projects.
  4. Engagement - Coordinate and leverage community resources.

Members

 The Keep Roanoke Beautiful Board consists of 8 members. Current members are:

Now Accepting Applications

The City of Roanoke is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Keep Roanoke Beautiful Board. To be eligible, individuals must be 18 years of age or older, a registered voter and a resident of the City of Roanoke for at least one year. The Board is composed of eight members: President, Vice President, Secretary and five Board Members. All positions are appointed by Roanoke City Council for a two-year staggered term. Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of every other month. Available board positions: three full term seats (ending January 2027).

The Keep Roanoke Beautiful Board is an advisory board to the Roanoke City Council. The board makes recommendations to the staff liaison, votes on these recommendations, and then they are presented to the City Council for final approval. Participation is highly encouraged to ensure the success of the Board.
