Important Update to Online Payments

Please be aware that Tyler Payments, our online payment portal, has implemented a new security measure that verifies the ZIP code entered at checkout against the ZIP code on file with your card-issuing financial institution.

Because ZIP codes were not previously validated, some customers using saved payment methods or making one-time payments may experience a declined transaction if the ZIP code entered does not exactly match the one associated with their card.

To avoid any issues, we recommend logging into your online portal and confirming that the ZIP code on file matches the ZIP code your bank has for your card.

Roanoke Emergency & Community Alerts

The City of Roanoke is excited to announce the launch of a new mass messaging system designed to keep our community members informed and safe. This state-of-the-art platform will allow users to receive timely alerts and notifications about important public safety information, emergency responses, and community events directly to their mobile devices and email.

In an effort to enhance communication and ensure that our messaging is both efficient and effective, we encourage all residents to sign up for the new system as soon as possible, as this system is Opt-In only. It is important to note that data from the previous messaging system will not be migrated to the new platform, meaning that all residents must register again to ensure they continue receiving critical updates.

“We understand that being informed is vital for the safety and well-being of our community. Our new messaging system will allow us to reach residents more quickly and deliver important information directly to them,” said Fire Chief Chris Addington. “We urge everyone to take a moment to sign up and stay connected, as this will be an essential tool for disseminating critical alerts.”
