Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Overview
The City of Roanoke is committed to providing equal access for all residents and visitors in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and its amendments, and other applicable accessibility regulations. The City does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in its services, programs, or activities.
ADA/504 Coordinator
In accordance with Title II of the ADA, the City of Roanoke has designated an ADA/504 Coordinator to oversee and coordinate compliance efforts.

Accommodations
Upon request, the City of Roanoke will provide appropriate aids and services to ensure effective communication and equal access for individuals with disabilities. Examples include qualified sign language interpreters, accessible documents, or other communication support for individuals with speech, hearing, or vision impairments.
Individuals with service animals are welcome in City of Roanoke facilities, even in areas where pets are typically not permitted.
ADA Transition Plan
The City of Roanoke has developed an ADA Transition Plan, which outlines the evaluation process used to assess facilities, parks, sidewalks, pathways, programs, services, and activities.
